Consumers can now receive money from overseas in any Vietnamese province with the availability of Western Union Money Transfer services in nearly every district and town, says the Western Union Company, a leader in global payment services
Mekong HousingBank is the latest agent offeringWestern Union Money Transfer services directly, allowing consumers to receive money from 37 banks in Vietnam.

This is particularly important given that approximately four milion Vietnamese nationals work, live and study in 101 countries and territories”, said Patricia Riingen, senior vice president Pacific & Indochina, Western Union.
Vietnam continues to hold its position in the top ten remittance-receiving markets in the world.
The company said that through its agents it had been serving consumers in Vietnam for over 15 years and continues to strengthen its agent network in keeping with its commitment of being wherever consumers need it to be.
In recognition of Vietnam’s growth potential as a developing economy as well as its policies to enhance the welfare of Vietnamese overseas, Western Union continues to increase its agent network in Vietnam based on service reliability and compliance. The signing of Mekong Housing Bank as direct agent is testinomy to these goals, Partricia said in a statement.
In addition to having a strong presence in Vietnam’s remittancereceiveing hub HCMC and the capital city Hanoi which represent approximately 2,000 Western Union also reaches as far north as Lang Son and Lao Cai near the Chinese border, the southernmost province of Ca Mau and small islands such as Con dao.
